Cathryn Boethel

Bb Soprano Clarinet

A 2013 graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, Cathryn earned her bachelor degree in Music Education with a Performance Certificate. While on a study abroad for music performance in Italy, Cathryn performed at the Caffeina Culture Festival and the Tuscia Wine Festival. Cathryn has recently been accepted to the American Band College to start her Masters in Conducting.

She has previously studied clarinet with Richard Nunemaker, retired 40 year veteran of the Houston Symphony, and Ilya Shterenberg, current principal clarinet of the San Antonio Symphony. Cathryn has also studied saxophone, flute, and cello. She has performed shows for the Woodlawn Theatre, as well as the San Pedro Playhouse. Cathryn has also been a member of the San Antonio Wind Symphony since 2009.

Cathryn is currently employed by San Antonio Independent School District as a middle school band director at Connell Middle School. She also teaches private lessons at Arpeggio Music Academy as a woodwind specialist. Besides surrounding herself with as much music as possible, she also loves to garden and travel.
